This sequence of photos shows the final scene of The Book of Empty Pages.  I used lighting to create the mood of isolation with a variety of blues.

The scene started off with one of the characters shooting his daughter

After the shot, I narrowed the focus down to the two main characters.

As the scene went on I narrowed the focus even more so the rest of the stage was dark.  The main characters are now only being lit by two spotlights and a blue top light.

The scene ends with only the toplight on the two characters.  This emphasizes the tragedy that has just taken place.
